Support Your Club

Want to support a fantastic club in your community? Want to give something back? Want to have a say in the running of your club? Rushcliffe Swimming has been run by volunteers for over 35 years, and has helped teach thousands of children how to swim.  Surely you'd like to be a part of that?!

Keep calm and support your club
Volunteering at your club is a very rewarding thing to do, and there are two opportunities currently available on the Club Committee. As well as supporting a club that adds real value to the local community, there’s even the bonus of half-price membership and lesson fees for Committee members!

The two positions are Club Secretary and Child Welfare Officer. Angela Fifer will be leaving the club's Child Welfare Officer post later this year in November.   Luke Vanhegan stepped down at the last AGM, and we urgently need a new Club Secretary.

Both Angela and Luke are happy to shadow and support the new Committee Members.  It's much easier than you think and you‘ll soon find out (if you don’t know already!) that everyone else on the Committee is very friendly and supportive.

What’s Involved?

The good news is that all roles on the committee have a minimal demand on your time.   Most committee members spend between thirty minutes and three hours a month on their duties, depending on their role and any activities that are being organised.

The Club Secretary has a variety of admin duties, including organising the agenda for committee meetings and the AGM, booking gala venues and planning key dates for the club.

The Child Welfare Officer’s responsibilities include ensuring that any safeguarding issues that arise in the club are handled correctly and promptly.

I’m Interested. What do I do Next?

Great! Just contact Luke or Angela directly, or any of the Committee Members to let them know you’re interested or just to find out more.

Hope to hear from you soon!
